It occurred to me today that of our four vehicles the transmissions are: a 3-speed, a 4-speed, a 5-speed, and a 6-speed. Unfortunately, they are all slush boxes. I need to fix that with the next purchase.

so your next car has to be a 7-speed, and since you want a manual, your choices are the new C7, a 991, or an early C4.

I'd prefer a C7 or a 991, but my wallet says a Doug Nash 4+3 must end up in the driveway. Maybe I should get a car with a powerglide as well?

A powerglide would work, as would a 70s Honda automatic. And EV's usually have a single-speed transmission
